The U.S. Department of Agriculture is asking states and food service companies, with the support of school food authorities, to pledge to make school meals and snack programs healthier.
For fiscal year 2026, we will provide up to $4 million for a competitive cooperative agreement to a government or nonprofit entity to carry out a Healthy Fluid Milk Incentive project.

Through the Healthy Meals Incentives initiative, FNA and Action for Healthy Kids (AFHK) supported school food authorities (SFAs) nationwide with nearly $30 million in grant funding, reaching 264 SFAs across 44 states and the District of Columbia. These grants provided up to $150,000 for small and rural school districts to enhance the nutritional quality of their meals and modernize their operations.
