USDA Approves Maine to Accept SNAP Benefits Online

Secretary Sonny Perdue today announced approval of a request from Maine to provide online purchasing of food to SNAP households. This approval will allow Maine to expedite the implementation of online purchasing with currently authorized SNAP online retailers with a target start date to be announced at a later time.

USDA today announced up to $34 million in Summer Electronic Benefit Transfer for Children grants to continue exploring ways to alleviate hunger among low-income children during the summer. USDA is awarding the grants to four grantees who will be able to continue projects and serve eligible children for the next three summers.
