USDA Announces FY26 SNAP Fraud Framework Implementation Grants
WASHINGTON, June 15, 2026 – The U.S. Department of Agriculture’s (USDA) Food and Nutrition Administration today announced the availability of up to $5 million for states to implement proven tools to boost integrity and fight fraud in the Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program (SNAP).
The grants will support states in implementing USDA’s SNAP Fraud Framework, which outlines best practices for preventing, detecting and responding to fraud committed by SNAP recipients seeking to exploit the program. States can leverage grant funding to upgrade data analytics, modernize fraud detection tools, improve investigative coordination, strengthen oversight processes and expand training on SNAP integrity.
These grants are one of many actions USDA is taking to eliminate SNAP fraud, waste, and abuse. Other recent activities include closing policy loopholes for retailers and recipients, modernizing EBT card technology, and coordinating cross-government to take down unscrupulous SNAP retailers.
The grant application opens today and closes July 17, 2026. Additional information—including the application, a fact sheet on the Fraud Framework, and a grant timeline—can be found on the Food and Nutrition Administration website.
