Civil Rights Email Notice

Thank you for contacting the Food and Nutrition Administration (FNA), Civil Rights Division (CRD). This is an automated acknowledgement receipt of your email. CRD processes complaints of alleged discrimination concerning FNA programs.

Please be advised that this email is not the correct account to send documentation unrelated to civil rights complaints. For example, any FNA program applications or supporting documentation should be sent directly to the state agency for which you are applying or the appropriate program for response.

USDA FNA provides federal financial assistance through nutrition assistance programs. All FNA programs have civil rights protections on the bases of race, color, national origin, sex, disability, age, and/or retaliation based or prior civil rights activity. Additionally, the Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program (SNAP) and the Food Distribution Program on Indian Reservation (FDPIR) also have civil rights protections based on religion and political belief.

Filing a Complaint: If you believe that you (or someone you are filing on behalf of) have been discriminated against because of your race, color, national origin, disability, age, sex, political belief, religion, and/or retaliation based or prior civil rights activity in violation of federal civil rights laws, you may file a complaint with CRD. You can find details about how to file a complaint in writing, email, or by using the Program Discrimination Complaint Portal.

Please note that if your email includes a complaint, it will be reviewed to determine CRD's authority to act on the matter. You will be contacted after this review has been completed. Thank you for bringing your concerns to our attention.

Thank you,

FNA Civil Rights Division
