Each January the USDA releases annual Commodity Supplemental Food Program (CSFP) caseload levels for states. This February 20, 2020 webinar discussed how national caseload is calculated, how states receive additional caseload, and best practices for caseload management.  Additionally, we provided an overview of the new CSFP certification period requirements under the 2018 Farm Bill and how the change affects caseload management.

Resource | Research and Data | General/Other An Estimate of Potential Identity Theft In SNAP In Two States

This exploratory study estimated the extent to which potential identity theft was used to obtain Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program (SNAP) benefits in Florida and Missouri during a 12-month period (June 2016 to May 2017). The prevalence of potential identity theft was estimated from examining the SNAP caseload data for cases with data discrepancies requiring referral to the state SNAP agency for further investigation. Because identity theft can be truly determined only after a detailed fraud investigation is conducted, the study estimates are to be considered potential identity theft rather than true identity theft.

The FBG Calculator is designed to create a shopping list to assist child nutrition program operators when ordering food for their programs. In this webinar, Team Nutrition also provided in-depth practice for using the calculator as well as highlighting the newly released training video. Participants can also experience the FBG Calculator on the FBG Mobile App. Program operators will be able to create and use their shopping list on-the-go.
