Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program (SNAP)

  • On July 8, 2025, we approved the North Dakota Department of Health and Human Services (NDDHHS) request to waive the 10-day reporting requirement for food purchased with SNAP benefits that was lost as a result of power outages due to severe storms that began on June 20, 2025. The waiver applies to Barnes, Burleigh, Cass, Eddy, Emmons, Foster, Grand Forks, Grant, Griggs, Kidder, LaMoure, Logan, Mclean, Morton, Nelson, Ramsey, Ransom, Richland, Sargent, Sioux, Steele, Stutsman, Traill, and Wells counties. The waiver is in effect through July 21, 2025.

Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program (SNAP)

  • On May 4, 2022, FNS approved North Dakota Department of Human Services request to waive the 10-day reporting requirement for replacement of food purchased with SNAP benefits that was lost as a result of power outages and an ice and snowstorm that began on April 23, 2022. The waiver applies to the following 25 counties: Adams, Benson, Billings, Bottineau, Bowman, Burke, Divide, Dunn, Golden Valley, Grant, Hettinger, McHenry, McKenzie, McLean, Mercer, Morton, Mountrail, Oliver, Pierce, Renville, Rolette, Slope, Stark, Ward and Williams. The waiver will be in effect through May 31, 2022.
