Replacement of Stolen Benefits
Statutory authority to replace stolen benefits expired on Dec. 20, 2024, thus SNAP benefits stolen on or after Dec. 21, 2024, are not eligible for replacement using federal funds.
Contact your state agency to report stolen SNAP benefits.
Households have 30 calendar days after the state has started their plan (June 2, 2023) to submit a retroactive claim. Report theft within 30 days of discovering and submit claim form within an additional 10 calendar days. Submit reports and claims by mail, phone, or in-person at local offices. The state has 30 business days to validate the claim.
Benefit Availability: Benefits for approved claims are issued within 30 business days after the date of claim submission. You must re-PIN your card, but we strongly advise you to replace the card.

Report theft and submit claims by phone, email, or in-person at local offices (online option available in the future). The state has 10 business days after reported loss, or 2 business days after claim submission (whichever is later) to validate the claim.
Benefit Availability: Benefits for approved claims are issued within 10 business days after report date or 2 business days after claim submission (whichever is later). You must replace your card.
